D. Yvonne Rivers has been the Principal of The Phoebe Marketing Group since 1997, a business development, marketing and training company serving globally and headquartered in Washington, DC. Yvonne is a graduate of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and studied graduate marketing at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Yvonne has over thirty years of business experience and is the creator and producer of ‘American Dream Business Pitch’ established as ‘DC Shark Tank’, now Phoebe Pitch Tank which is a business pitch competition established in 2015 that has developed tremendous accolades and exposure for Yvonne in ‘Black Enterprise Magazine.

Yvonne also serves as a "Pitch Coach' across the U.S., including Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida and Howard University in Washington, DC and other entrepreneurship programs.

Yvonne’s work as conference facilitator and presenter for Small Business Administration (SBA brought her to Washington, DC in 2010 from Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. Yvonne is a Master Trainer with her custom curriculum in teaching entrepreneurship for National Urban League, Operation Hope and contractor for DC Small Business courses and many more.

Yvonne aka ‘Phoebe’ has been an entrepreneur since 1988 in business development including business plans, marketing plans and sponsorship marketing.

Yvonne has expanded with a micro-enterprise program in Ghana, West Africa, Johannesburg, South Africa and London, England.

D. Yvonne Rivers is Principal and Founder of Phoebe Marketing Group, business development and training firm for businesses and nonprofit organizations. Some of the specialties skills include strategic business and marketing plans, businesses and nonprofit training and group consulting at retreats.

Yvonne founded in 2002 the Women’s Point of View Forums and Phoebe Women Network. Phoebe Women Network is a network of women who are 'seeking to achieve their fullest potential.' Yvonne has been a Workshop Presenter for the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Ms. Rivers is the co-founder of Nonprofit Boot Camp in 2005, a course curriculum of interactive workshop training for nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Rivers was named YWCA of South Hampton Roads ‘Woman of Distinction’ in Communications in 2009. PMG expanded with an office in Washington, DC in 2010 and is establishing a social entrepreneurship in Ghana, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago.
